Safety

The safety and well being of all East Coast Repair and Fabrication employees is of paramount importance.  

It is the policy of East Coast Repair to provide a safe and healthful workplace for all employees, free of recognized hazards and maintained in a healthful and sanitary fashion.  All work shall be planned so as to provide for the safety and health of all personnel.

No task shall be considered of such importance or urgency by anyone that standard safe practices of work safety rules may be ignored or the method of accomplishment place an employee in danger.  No employee shall be compelled to undertake any task for which they do not feel that they have the training, skills or equipment to conduct safely.

 All managers and supervisors shall consider safety to be an integral part of their responsibilities equal to cost, quality and production.  It is the responsibility of all supervisory personnel to ensure that all tasks undertaken are free of uncontrolled hazards and that the personnel assigned are adequately trained and equipped to perform the task in a safe manner.

Employees are expected to comply with all safety practices, procedures and work rules as mentioned in the safety program, required by their supervisor either orally or in writing or set forth at the work site by the owner, client organization or contractor.  Failure to comply with established work rules or conduct endangering the employee or others will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination.  All company personnel, whether engaged as management, administrative or operations functions are expected to actively participate and support the company safety program.

Supervisors, company managers and designated safety representatives have the authority and the responsibility to stop work and remove all employees from any situation posing an immediate danger of injury or illness.  Work shall resume only after the hazards have been controlled and it is safe to do so.

ECR has one of the lowest incidents reports records in the industry.  Safety is the highest priority in our company and that we offer our customers!
